Hotel

The girls were bored the other day and I was expaining to them that they are so lucky to have a playroom full of toys to play with and that I didn't have a playroom when I was a their age. They just couldn't believe it. With big huge eyes of disbelief, Hallie said, "what did you do all day?" So I told them of the days of playing, house, city, hotel, Fisher & Todd radio show, dance party. etc., etc.. So they thought that Hotel sounded fun, so I explained what to do and these are the outfits that they came up with. Hallie was a "Russian Lady" and she dressed Avery and Hayden in her interpretation of what "Indian" people look like. I'm not sure she quite got the concept. At least she has twice as much imagination as I ever did.
Another "posing" picture!

Jaxton

Isn't that the sweetest picture? Jaxton had his two month check up yesterday and despite his medication making him so sleepy that he doesn't have much of an appetite, he managed to weigh in at 12 lbs. 13 oz. and 24 3/4 ". Such a big boy!
He is just the sweetest baby. He loves to coo and talk to anyone who will listen. There is no sweeter sound than when babies first start talking. It is so exciting to hear their little voices. He just started laughing this week. It is so cute. He is getting big so fast, too fast!
He is already sleeping 10-12 hours at night. I am just so spoiled. We are so blessed that he is a part of our family. We just love this little guy!

Why I Love Summer!

Nothing is better in the summertime than jumping on the trampoline in your panties and eating an ice cream cone!
Hayden loves ice cream, or ice-ice as she calls it. On this particular night Hallie and Avery got their dessert taken away and so she was the only one that got ice cream. She was lovin that!

Sadly summer is coming to an end! It was really cold here yesterday, just a reminder that winter is around the corner. Lucky for us Californians we still have about one more month of warmth, we have to soak it up!

A Whole New World, I Mean Blog

I hope that you all enjoy my new template! It only cost me two days of my life. I learned to write code so that I could make it, yes you heard right, I made it myself! I had been trying to just upload a pre-made template off of other websites, but I just couldn't get it to work right. The only one I could get to upload took away all of the About Me section and links. So I spent some time on some web geek's blogs and figured out how to make my own. Nick thinks I am a total dork! So here it is, enjoy!

A Sad Day!

I know you can't tell by the smile on my face, but this was a very sad day. I have to start off by saying that I am not a very sentimental person at all, and I never thought I would have this kind of reation, but I was nearly in tears. I got all of the baby girl clothes and everything that Hayden has outgrown out of the attic and loaded them up to give to a friend. It was so sad as I was going through them. Some of the clothes had been worn by all three of the girls. I kept pulling things out and saying to Nick, "remember when Hallie wore this?", "remember my mom gave this to Avery for her first birthday?" It brought back a flood of memories of places we had been in these clothes and things we had done in them. But, what am I going to do, just keep them in the attic? As they say, "to everything there is a season," and we are moving into a new season of life. My babies are growing up!!! So, enjoy the clothes Dave and Jaycee, and make your own special memories!!

Hayden did not enjoy playing fashion show. Hallie and Avery have always loved when I get clothes out of the attic. They want to try on EVERYTHING! Hayden wanted no part of it! This jacket and these boots were the only things I could get her to try on, and the jacket was only after a lot of bribing. She was however, very interested in the newborn shoes and kept throwing a fit when she couldn't get them on. That girl just loves her shoes!

The Things We Do For Beauty

The other day while I was looking on line I found some beauty tips using household items. I am always looking for a good bargain, so I decided to try one out. It said to take ordinary Elmer's glue and spread it across the bridge of your nose and let it dry and then peel off. It is supposed to reduce the size of your pores and clean all of the gunk out.

So I dug through Hallie's craft box and spread the glue all over my nose and the surrounding areas. It started to dry and it tightened a lot, it felt really weird! I pulled it off after a few minutes. I didn't see a lot of gunk on it, but it did make my pores feel nice and tight.

As I was doing this, it got me thinking of funny things we do for beauty, and I was reminded of a time when I was a teenager and I needed a ride home. I called my mom and she was trying to get out of coming to get me. She kept asking if anyone else could give me a ride. No one else could, so finally she came to pick me and my friend up. She arrived in her nightgown and a robe and . . . . . egg on her face, not the expression, literally egg on her face! I don't remember what the egg on your face was supposed to do, but for a while, every night, my mom would get an egg, scramble it all up and spread it on her face. That is so disgusting!!

This week I also received my first order from eyeslipsface.com, where everything is only a dollar. How can you beat that? This is how I would rate it:

Super Glossy Lip Shine A+
Eye Lash Curler A+
Eye Shadow Brush A
Plumping Lip Glaze B
Eye Liner B
Blush B
Total Face Brush C
Mascara F-

DO NOT ORDER THE MASCARA, it is worthless! I was really pleased with the lip stuff, but I was disappointed because they didn't have some of my items, so the just credit it back, instead of sending it to you when it comes in stock. So if you want that stuff you have to reorder and pay for shipping again. But I have already ordered more things, you just can't beat a dollar!

Say Cheese!

For some reason, a couple of years ago Hallie got it into her head that you need to "pose" for pictures. It will not do to just smile and sit nicely. You need to do something really terrific and special!! Lovely. Now she has passed this wonderful talent down to her sister. It is getting to the point where they watch each other and try to "out pose" each other and get ideas from each other. Here are some of my favorites.

Chillin' at the Yolo County Fair

Easter

. . . and the next Easter (the dresses still fit!)

Christmas in Mexico

Our own little Bo Derek!

Father and Daughter Campout

This was the very first pose Hallie ever did. Unfortunately I don't have the pictures of her doing this pose on this computer. Avery learned from the best!

Jaxton's Blessing Day

Today was Jaxton's blessing day. Nick gave Jaxton a beautiful blessing. Everyone came to our house afterwards for lunch. It was a great day with a lot of great family, great friends and great food. The highlight of Hayden's day was that we sang her favorite song in Sacrament Meeting, "Teach Me To Walk In the Light." All in all, it was pretty exciting!

The proud papa!

Jaxton looked so handsome in the outfit that Grandma Julie made, and Aunt Natalie let us borrow.

Sadly this is the best of the family pictures! We tried to make the kids take pictures before we fed them. Big mistake.

Labor Day

Here are some cute pictures of what Nick and the kids did on Labor Day. They all went down to Wacky's for a swim with Auntie Em. For those of you who don't know who Wacky is, that is Nick's mom. Lest you think that we are being disrespectful by calling her Wacky, she chose the name.

Relaxing and having fun!

Check out the look she is giving him!

Hallie looks like she is having a blast!!

Apparently I got Natalie's kids and she got mine, because mine are afraid of nothing!! That is Hayden the barely 2 year old. She just jumps in whether there is someone there to catch her or not. She loves going off of the diving board. I don't think I am very comfortable jumping off of the diving board, but she is fearless. She refuses to wear floaties. Thank goodness the kids inherited their dad's sense of adventure, because mom's is non-existent.

Meanwhile, I spent Labor Day laboring. I stayed home with baby Jax. So I spent the day folding laundry and staining the new entertainment center that Nick built. It looks great!

Ahhh....SVT again!

We had a little scare last night. When Jaxton woke up from his nap last night he looked a little pale. I checked his heart rate and it was pretty high, probably in the low 200's(it was hard to count it was so fast). Anyways, so we kept checking it and after about a half and hour it came down. That is surprising because the doctor had told us that if it hasn't come down after 5 minutes, it probably won't come down on its own. We are thinking that it was high because Wednesday and Thursday night right after he had his medicine he started choking and through it all up, but the doctor told us not to give him another dose because an overdose could be lethal to him. Scary! Poor boy! I can't blame him for choking on it, I accidentally tasted one of his medicines the other day and it was awful! It was so strong it numbed my tongue, ick. And poor boy, he has to have that medicine 4 times a day. Anyways every time I have checked his heart rate since it has been okay, and it wasn't as high as it had been when he had episodes before. So he is doing good now, if we can just keep his medicine in him.

On a brighter note, we went for a walk this morning and after days of it being sooo hot, there was a nice breeze coming off of the lake. While we were looking for fish in the lake, a nice lady came by with her dog and asked the girls if they wanted to see something funny. She let her dog off of the leash and it jumped in the lake. It was the funniest dog paddle I have ever seen. This dog was a total spazz. She didn't just swim she liked the water so much that she was splashing herself on purpose as she swam. The girls were laughing so hard. Then the dog jumped out and splashed us all. Hallie and Avery liked that, but Hayden was not so happy about it. She loves to swim but she hates if water gets on her when she is not swimming, so weird!

I am too cheap to buy a double stroller for our last child, so this is how Hayden goes for a walk. It works! Plus it gives people a good laugh, so I am providing a public service.
